Programmers.Ai hired Races2U to set up a Radio Control race track at the Power Up conference in New Orleans this April to help promote some of their new partners, products, and services. Programmers.Ai has the world’s largest team of IBM-i and mainframe experts. They use Ai to modernize legacy IBM systems and preserve information as senior systems maintenance and programming specialists retire or move to other careers. The 4 day conference was held at the New Orleans Marriott, ideally situated at the heart of the city between the Central Business District and the French Quarter. There were many people from various sectors of the tech industry in attendance, from all over the world. We had racers from throughout the US, as well as France, England, Israel, and Uruguay, among others. For this event, we were racing various Kyosho Mini-Z sports cars on a 20×20 foam track. We had transponders installed in the cars, and tracked the races and displayed real-time stats on the monitor so spectators could track who was winning. Cars and track were branded with the client’s logos. We even gave away some RC cars to the fastest racers at the end of the event. Many thanks to Kip, Kim, Matt, Garrett, Alex, Xarai, and all the other great staff we worked with, and to the Marriott as well for providing the wonderful food that New Orleans is so famous for. Of course, we wouldn’t have been able to run the races without the experience and charm of the amazing Ms. Laura Petersen who aside from being a super mom and super model, has also been a key part of our staff for several years.
