The Carrera US Slot Car Championship was held at Lummus Park in Miami Beach Nov 17th during the NASCAR Championship Drive fanfest event.
The event had 115 racers competing on a large Carrera DIGITAL slot track racing the DIGITAL 132 Carrera NASCARs. A long track featuring straight stretches around 12’ in length and a banked curve tested the driving ability of the participants.
Early in the days racing Bruno Santos of Orlando threw down a fast time of 1:02.565 elapsed race time during his 10 laps on the track. By the end of the day and after over 100 racers trying to knock him off the top step of the podium Santos’ time stood the test and he won the 2011 Carrera US Championship. Santos will now travel to Germany for the Carrera World Final race which will be held early in 2012.

2nd place – Fabio Gambini 1:03.341 race time, Fastest lap-5.882
