Over a hundred people had gathered in the Starlight lounge at the Oasis on Lake Travis an hour before the recorded race was scheduled to start.  Formula 1 fans from all over the Austin area came out to watch the first race of the season that took place in Australia on the giant projector screen.   When the race ended with Kimi Raikkonen taking first place, the crowd applauded loudly.   Michael from Zinger Hardware did a great job as usual organizing the event, and many sponsors and supporters showed up to make it a fun and enjoyable experience for all. A big thank you to John Eagle Motorsports as well for their sponsorship and assistance in making this possible. Many people spent time talking cars before and after the race as the parking lot was full of Porsches, Mini-Coopers, Lotus, Maserati, and other unique and exotic automobiles.  Kids young and old raced on the slot car track setup by Races2U.  And of course, many people dined on the famous nachos and other delicious food the Oasis has to offer.  Come out and join us for the next race this coming Sunday, March 21st at 1pm upstairs in the Starlight lounge at the Oasis!
