Frequently asked questions
What is Races2U?
Races2U is a mobile racing entertainment company that brings high-energy racing experiences — including simulators, slot cars, and remote control (RC) car racing — directly to your event, whether it’s a corporate party, team-building activation, trade show, or celebration.
What types of racing experiences do you offer?
We offer multiple interactive experiences:Slot Car Racing: Electrically-powered miniature cars race on specialized tracks — perfect for competitive fun.
Radio-Controlled (RC) Car Racing: Battery-powered cars you steer yourself, great for outdoor or indoor contests.
Racing Simulators: Sit-down virtual racing rigs that simulate real driving experiences for guests of all skill levels.
All experiences are customizable for your group size, venue, and theme.
What is a racing simulator?
A Races2U racing simulator is a mobile virtual racing setup featuring a dedicated race seat, realistic steering wheel with force feedback, and pedals — designed to give guests the feel of driving real race cars using high-quality simulation technologyWhat is a slot car?
A slot car is a small electric car that runs on a specialized track with a groove (slot). The car stays in the slot using a guide pin, so it follows a fixed path around the track.
What are the differences between an analog slot car and a digital one?
An analog slot car must remain in its original lane, and each car needs its own lane to operate, so to race six cars requires a track that is six lanes wide. These tracks can be quite large and cumbersome to set up. A digital slot car and track allows for multiple cars to compete on as few as 2 lanes, with special sections of track where the user can select to change lanes. Digital slot cars even have the options of pit stops, safety cars, and telemetry that is not available for analog cars.
What’s a good trade show booth idea?
Racing activations are a great draw to any trade show booth. From a small slot car track in a 10×10 booth to several simulators in a 40×40, our racing is always a hit.
What is an RC car?
An RC (radio-controlled) car is a battery-powered vehicle that you control wirelessly. You can steer, accelerate, brake, and drive it freely on many different surfaces.
Are there differences between simulators?
Simulators can vary widely in construction, size, features, and realism, as well as cost to rent or buy. From a basic wheel, pedals and seat to full motion, virtual reality, surround sound, multiple screens… even built into the shell of a real car! Depending on your space and budget, we can build or rent almost anything you need for your racing experience. What is a Pinewood Derby?
A successful Pinewood derby requires a lot of advance planning, because unlike the rest of our racing options, Pinewood derby participants design and create their own cars. This process can take days, and is usually done on an individual basis. Races2U will provide the necessary kits and instructions to create the cars, and we provide the track and attendants on race day. This is a great opportunity for participants to showcase their creativity and engineering skills, and is best used as a team building exercise, as it would be impractical for an event like a trade show.
Can Races2U come to my event location?
Yes — we’re a fully mobile service. Our team brings racing equipment, staff, and setup to your venue, whether indoors or outdoors, large or small.
What areas does Races2U service?
Because we are a mobile service, we can set up almost anywhere, indoors or out, anywhere in the US. With staff and locations in key areas of the country, we can have most of our racing options delivered to your location from ours in 24 hours. Our professional staff will work with yours from setup to cleanup, providing a turnkey solution no matter where you are.How do I make corporate events more engaging?
The competition and excitement generated by our racing activities will have your employees and guests asking for us year after year. Whether it’s RC cars or slot cars or even virtual reality racing, everyone enjoys the adrenaline rush of getting behind the wheel and driving fast!
What are some unique team building activities?
Racing really is a team sport. It’s not all about the driver. Without pit crew, crew chief, sponsors, and even spectators, it’s just driving fast. We take the lessons of racing and apply them to team building in a fun and exciting way.
What are the setup requirements for our racing activations?
Races2U has been doing events for over 15 years, and we have setup/breakdown down to a science. We do most of our prep work before we even show up on site. Because of this, we can set up almost any of our activations in under an hour, and breakdown takes even less time.
What are the price ranges for your events? What’s the minimum expense?
While we do have a minimum of two thousand dollars and a minimum time of 2 hours for any of our activations, many of our activations last a full day or several days, and can cost several thousand dollars. The slot cars are the least expensive option, with a full day often costing $3000 or more. RC racing is similarly priced. Simulators vary by the complexity of the rigs, and can be between $1,200 to $20,000 a day per unit, with a 2 unit minimum on the lower end sims.
How big an event can you handle? What’s the smallest?
From a two hour birthday party with a dozen guests to a week long exhibition in Las Vegas with tens of thousands of visitors, we can do any size event, as long as it meets our minimum requirements.
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier you book, the better, especially certain times of year. Races2U is in high demand for big events like Formula 1 racing in Miami, Austin, and Las Vegas, and also for some NASCAR and Indy car races. Also, if you want book us for a major automotive trade show like SEMA or NADA, we would recommend at least 6 months in advance. For other events, we recommend 4 to 6 weeks, especially if custom branding or custom cars are involved. While we can and have done events on short notice, (sometimes even the day before!), it’s better for all involved to have time to prepare the best activation possible.
How much space is required?
A slot car track can be setup in as little as a 10×10 area. So can 2 simulators. Be aware though that neither option leaves a lot of space for much else. A small slot car track requires at least 5’x8′, and a typical simulator footprint is 30″x 5′. RC cars need a little more space, at least 15’x10′. Of course, the more space you have, the more flexibility you have with options and design.
