Many of you that read this blog are slot car fans, and are familiar with Pioneer Slot Cars. For those that aren’t, this small manufacturer in England makes outstanding replicas of late 60’s and early 70’s American muscle cars. In 2009 Pioneer introduced it’s first car- a replica of the green Ford Mustang used in the famous chase scene from the movie “Bullitt” with Steve McQueen. These highly praised and highly valued cars were run in very limited numbers, and are now worth several times their original retail price. On the rare occasions that one comes up on Ebay, this slot car always attracts dozens of bidders, and the final price is frequently $250 USD or more. Well, here at Races2U, we have something even more special- A numbered “Mid-chase” edition of this iconic and now classic car. While from the rear and left, this seems like the standard green Mustang we know and love, the right side shows the damage caused by the sideswipe with the assassin’s charger, and the windshield is peppered with bullet holes. There were only 20 of these produced, and Races2U has #18. This car has never seen the track, and is a shelf queen along with some of our other rare and unusual cars.
